last minute advent wreath

forgot that the advent started today and you don't have an advent wreath yet...???

no problem...there is a simple idea for an advent wreath, which does not require any extraordinary  supply....you can easily use your last year's christmas tree decoration.

this advent wreath will also make a beautiful a centre piece for your christmas dining table.

this is what you need

- four glasses

- four candles

- some matching christmas tree balls in various sizes

- matching ribbons, sequinces or other small bits and pieces

this is wnat you have to do

- divide your decoration supply into four parts

- place each part into one of the glasse

- turn the glasses upside down

- arrange the glasses in one row

- place one candle onto each glass stand

- add some more decoration around the glass handle holders

this is such a simple, but yet stylish way to set up an advent wreath, which does niot cost a thing, if you are able to reuse your existing decoration stuff.

i wish a joyful holiday season...best regards...silke

concrete advent wreath, as easy as 1-2-3-4

why didn't i think of this...i love concrete, i love working with silicone molds and i love unconventional advent wreaths.

...to make four numbers of concrete and to stick candles into them...no i did not think of this great advent wreath idea, but i am so grateful, that someone else did and shared it with everyone...thank you so much.

this someone else is called fee and you can have a look at her concrete advent wreath right here

i thought i should glam up the concrete numbers a little bit and added a little glitter...but to be honest, i do like the unfinished ones the same way.

if you are interested to see how to make a concrete numbered advent wreath, you are more than welcome to have a look at my pictured tutorial.

...thank you very much for your visit and best regards...silke

upcycled glass bottle advent wreath

my last advent wreath this year...upcycled beer bottles in silver with a few branches of fir.

quite simple but nevertheless chic and unique and not only for men.

...actually this advent wreath is the closest to a traditional one...because of the fir branches of course...not because of the beer bottles.

this is what you need

- four glass bottles

- four silver candles

- four stainless steel trays or flat bowls

- fir branches

- silver balls

- matching christmas balls

- silver spray-paint

- letter stencils

- pen

- scissors

this is what you have to do

- get your glass bottles ready

- spray-paint the bottles

- they might need another coat

- and another coat

- get your stencils and your pen ready

- either write the numbers "one" to "four" in letters onto the front of the bottles or simply the numbers

- i chose the letters in german

- get your candles ready

- my candles do not fit into the opening of the bottles, so i decided to turn the candle upside down

- looks so much better than cutting them back with a knife

- start decorating your bowls or trays

- place the beer bottles inside...i needed to cheat a little, as two of my square bowls are to narrow for the bottles...i had to place a piece of carton on the rim of those bowls and place the bottles on top

- cut your fir branches into smaller pieces

- place them around the rim to hide the inside of the bowl

-

- like this, maybe

- add some of your christmas ornaments

- and some more on the table

- and that's it

- my nearly traditional advent wreath

i hope you enjoyed my tutorial...thank you very much for visiting me...best regards...silke
